ParAvion Flying Holidays:

Club Pilot Advanced Training Abroad

Every year we run courses somewhere in Europe for our students and ex-students. This could be almost anywhere, but in the past few years the places we have taken them include Austria, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. If you would like to join us on our next holiday just let your instructor or our CFI know and we'll give you the details as soon as we've made any arrangements.

These advanced flying courses/holidays are for ParAvion students and ex-students only. The main objectives being to improve your flying skills, but we also insist you have some fun too.

Take a look at our Testimonials page to see what our past students have to say about our holidays and training courses. There are also lots of pictures of previous trips in our Gallery. You'll also find a couple of video clips from previous trips to France on our Video page.

We try to keep the cost under £600.00 so by the time you've got your flights, insurance and spending money together it shouldn't cost you more than £800.00 to £900.00 (remember, this is a specialist holiday with expert guidance and instruction - not just a cheap package holiday to get you into the sun).

Poor Weather Plan

As we can never guarantee good weather; if we're unlucky with it there are always other things to do. There is invariably a choice of any of the following: Cycling/Mountain Biking, Rafting, Kayaking, Canyoning, Walking/Trekking, Horse Riding etc. We'll always take you out for the day to the local town/city or beach etc. as well if you want to.

Payments

We will expect a minimum deposit of £250.00 to put your name on the list with the balance paid in full at least ten weeks before the departure date. All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE unless ParAvion cancels the holiday. If this happens, you will be entitled to a full refund.

We would prefer you to pay us by electronic funds transfer, cheque or cash in order to save on credit card charges, but for those of you that insist on paying by card we will pass those costs on to you - currently our bank charges us around 4% for credit card transactions and 2% for debit cards. We can arrange PayPal payments too, but these will also incur a surcharge of 3.5%.

Flight Details

Travel Insurance

You must have Travel Insurance (to cover personal accident, rescue, medical emergency and repatriation costs). The level of cover you take is entirely up to you, but we would recommend that you DO NOT take the minimum level of cover. Saving a few pounds on your insurance could end up costing a lot more than money in the event of an accident.

Go to our Insurance page for details.

If you don't already have one you must also apply for a European Health Insurance Card - follow this link www.ehic.org

Course Content

Nearly always suitable for new or low airtime pilots looking for their first introduction to mountain flying and or coastal soaring. You will start with high top-to-bottom flights (typically 1,500ft to 3,500ft).

Of course these holidays are also suitable for more experienced pilots looking for a nice relaxing holiday with some flying thrown in too.

Please note:

No Smokers - due to repeated requests from students and pilots over many years (and the fact that it is tolerated less and less almost everywhere); we are no longer able to take smokers on our holidays. We're very sorry, but we must give people the service they ask for and the majority rules.
