Training Course Prices
Here are our course prices and purchase options. Please make sure you read the 'more details' section of each one before you make your purchase.
To qualify to Club Pilot standard so that you can fly without an instructor present, you must complete ALL of the stages of the BHPA Training Syllabus in order; the Elementary Pilot Course and then the Club Pilot Course.
Tandem flights are not part of the training syllabus - they just allow you an introduction to paragliding flight. Our Taster Day is the first day of the EP Course - it is just split from the main EP course itself in order to give you an easy introduction to paragliding and save you money.
Over 90% of our students complete their full training within seven days (some less), so we will allow you up to seven days to complete. If it takes you longer you will be charged at a discounted daily rate of £100.00 (normally £170.00). This will only happen if you spread your attendance over too long a period and require refresher training.
Your rate of progression will depend on how many flights you achieve on any given day and how close together you can make those days (an average training day will be five or six high flights to between 500ft and 1000ft). If you can attend on weekdays, occasionally this number can be doubled or more; so you'll get two days worth of training completed in one.
Our student groups are quite small during the week (typically four to six) which should enable you to progress faster for the reason mentioned above. At weekends it's a bit busier (typically six to ten). If you decide to go on to CP (Hill) training, then it can often be just one student and an Instructor on weekdays.
We have a support forum so you can keep in touch with other students you'll meet (and us of course). Also, if you can make yourself available at short notice we will contact you by phone, SMS or email for a 'last minute' place if one becomes available.
All ParAvion courses are run seven days a week - weather permitting (paragliding is VERY weather dependent - see weather page).

The Club Pilot (Hill) Course more details
The option to purchase a CP (Hill) course is not available on-line; you will first need to discuss your training programme with our Chief Flying Instructor.
BHPA Pilot Rating & Beyond more details
When you have gained the necessary practical flying experience, simply come back to our Ground School for all your theory needs. We run regular training and exam sessions for Pilot, Advanced Pilot and Paramotor ratings. For those of you that are impatient, we offer a Pilot Theory Day so you can do all the theory and exam in one day.
You may also be invited to join us on one of our many foreign flying holidays. Click on the Flying Holidays link to the left.
Learned With Another School?
If you have started your training with another school (whether it is UK based or foreign), it is unsafe for us to try and pick up where they left off because we will not know your ability, knowledge or currency. You must first undertake a Safety Evaluation Day (same price as a Taster Day).
We cannot just teach you your final few tasks on a 'daily' basis because you feel your current school is failing you or because you've relocated to our area.
We will expect you to pay for the full CP course initially, but if you qualify in less time than normal (as you should), we will refund the difference.
Our reasoning is simple; ParAvion's training standards and safety record are second to none and we want to keep it that way.
